Updates to OHR

Dear Research Community,

Over the next year, the Office of Human Research (OHR) will be involved in updating and revising all of the policies, procedures, and operations of OHR and the Institutional Review Boards (IRB).

The goals of this initiative are:

  •     To assure GW is in compliance with all applicable federal regulations and GW policies
  •     To accommodate President Knapp’s initiative to increase research funding streams to GW
  •     To improve the IRB review functions and systems to provide a timely review service to our research community
  •     To adopt an electronic submission system to facilitate recordkeeping for research teams and for the OHR

Changes will begin in 2014 and will take approximately a year to complete.  All revised policies and procedures will be posted on the OHR website http://humanresearch.gwu.edu and we will provide periodic updates on our progress.
